Arizona is still warm and shorts are the appropriate dress when being outside. In Massachusetts long paints are much better, at least for those of us that don’t have quality insulation.

What amazes me are the little girls wearing skorts and short sleeves when the temperature doesn’t reach 70°F. Then I notice how much they run around and my surprise changes from how summery they dress to their energy. They just keep on going, trying out things until they can do it.

How often do we stop trying because we can’t do it, what ever it is. It is too difficult and we listen to others that say we can’t do it. We stop trying and start collecting insulation, fat. It takes a lot of energy to keep on like these girls do. But they are having fun. Are you?

What does giving up this energy give us and what is the cost? When I’m looking at these girls it sure looks to me the energy is worth hanging on to. And it will definitely help on the way to a Life of Abundance.

Love and peace,

As I talked about in my last blog, to clean house and getting rid of the stuff that is not serving you can clean your mind and bring you energy. But it can also be an overwhelming experience. Therefore it is easy to put it behind everything else and procrastinate.

Where should you start such an overwhelming project? Break it down to small steps. The question to ask is what is taking the most energy from you? For me the usual answer is the clutter on my office desk. That is why I start working on it first. Beginning with the space on the desk that is closest to me. Then I expand to the whole office. The trick here is not to stop, but letting the energy that is released when I get rid of the overflow and the annoyances help me clean the rest of my space and life.

It is amazing how much lighter I feel after cleaning my space and how much more

spacious it feels, both in my surroundings and my soul. The space that shows up is incredible. The energy that is released is even more life changing.

Now with all that extra space the question is what to do with it? One option is to fill it up again with other stuff. This time, you tell yourself, it is going to be stuff that you really want. Or is it? There is another option. That is to focus the energy that was released outwards and change the life you are living. Which brings up other questions. What kind of life do you want to live? What do you want in your life? These questions bring you back to yourself. These are big questions that need to be addressed. The cleaning of the physical space is just the beginning. Now you need to move on to what are you doing in your life? Where do you spend your time and how?

Again starting close to home is often the easiest. When I started to look at how I was using my time I realized there were two things I didn’t much care for. One was the “necessity” to check the e-mail, which I talked about in an earlier blog (“Email – the time vampier”). The other one was TV. I found myself sitting in front of the TV for more hours than I care to admit. And because of that, I was not enjoying these hours with my husband or doing other productive work. Sitting next to each other watching TV is not interacting. Deciding what was worth my time, and what I enjoy the most worked wonders for my life. Now we record the shows we really want to see and watch them when it fits our schedule. No more hanging in front of the TV.

By starting with small steps the bigger steps become easier. Rome wasn’t built in one day. So why would you change your whole life in one big step. It takes a lot of courage and patience to become what you are meant to be. Having spent your whole life building what you have and then take a turn takes a lot of guts. It requires a lot of time to get to know oneself and to find out what you really want in life. And then build up the courage to actually start building the life YOU want to live. The life of abundance you deserve.

All too often we are busy in acquiring things in our life, thinking that more is better. The only thing that we end up with is an overflow of stuff, things for a lot of “just in case” scenarios. Then we never find it when those “just in case” moments come around. I know that I have been guilty of doing this. Ending up buying more stuff and ending up with an overflow of stuff. The result is that we get lost and can’t find anything in all our stuff. Then we spend a lot of time and energy looking for things and not finding them. As we are looking for things, we also spend energy on being aggravated over all the other stuff we do not like and don’t want.

Recently I read a book, “Coach yourself to success” by Talane Miedaner where she talks about how all that stuff is not only taking up precious space, it is also taking up energy. Everything is made of energy. The molecules in everything are held together by energy. Our furniture, books and all the other stuff we like to have around us is made up of energy. All the stuff we do not like and are only tolerating because it was cheap when we bought is energy. All the stuff that not longer fits us and has long passed its usefulness is also energy. I’m referring here to both physical and mental energy. It is here only because we haven’t gotten rid of it, and is taking up precious space and energy. We are stuck with too much stuff. All that stuck energy becomes stale and robs us of our energy, our positive active energy.

Now, the thing to do is to clean house, get rid of the stuff that you have for those farfetched “just in case” moments or could be used again if we would only fix it. Make space around you and in your mind. By removing stuff we are making space for new things to enter into our life, which does not have to be material things.

When we have gotten rid of the stuff that is robbing us of our energy, we can ask ourselves the question: “What do I really want? “ The answer might not be things. It might be a new job, travel or something totally different. Go look for what you really want in your life. Go for it! Don’t just settle for the closest thing or “just in case”. The sooner you figure this out the sooner you will be living a life of abundance.

When the market went tumbling down fear took over. The news media focused on the downside. As people talked about how bad the market was, how the economy was going down to new lows, fear came into people’s minds. People’s minds were full of fear. In all of this I noticed that my energy level went down with the economy. Even people around me said the same thing. Was it the economy that was dragging the energy down? Or was it the fear that gobbled up the energy? When I took a step back I saw a big monster that was feeding on our fear and the energy we were putting into the fear.

As the elections came closer the media focused on it and put its energy and resources to report on it. The markets started going up slowly. Where were we putting our energy? Not in the fear monster. Life was somewhat better. The bowl of breakfast cereal is the same as before. Was it helpful indulging in fear? Did anything improve? No, we only let our energy be gobbled up by the fear monster. What will be different if we focus on what is good and how we can feel better? How about taking the energy and go out and run to build up our mind and body? When we go to bed we can at least have a good night’s sleep.

As we all know the results of the election were historical and we will remember them forever. Now that the energy around the elections has dissipated the focus is back on the economy. Market is again spiraling down and the monster is back at the table feeding on fear. Maybe we are living the prophecy, the self-fulfilling prophecy that is feed by fear.

How to leave the darkness of Underearning for a bright life of Abundance.

Being under the heavy cloud of underearning is depressing and energy draining. The world is difficult. We often try some desperate means to battle it, often with dire results. I know this too well, having spent a big part of my life under this dark and heavy cloud.

Now what is UNDEREARNING?

Mikelann Valterra, the founder of Women’s Earnings Institute, defines underearning as follows.

“Underearning happens when you repeatedly make less than you need or than would be helpful to you, usually despite your desire to make more money. Put another way, an underearner is someone who doesn’t get paid as much as might be expected, given her experience, education, training or results she obtains for her clients.”

Many of us have been there and many still are. We think “If only …”, “Why not…” and all the other variations of that. It feels like we can’t change our life.

GUESS WHAT? WE CAN! We can actually change. To change the results we get, we have to change how we do things. Life of abundance is possible. It requires us to make changes. I know that from my own experience. I used to be rather quiet, didn’t like to be noticed and went often into great lengths to keep the status quo.

By hiding from life I was hiding from money. So, I made a decision to change. Now, I work on being the authentic me. I stopped hiding from money and started taking care of money. Guess what, I found out that if I take care of money, then money takes care of me.

In this blog I will discuss these past practices of mine and that so many other underearning women have. And I will also talk about what it takes to live a life, a life of abundance.

Love and peace,

ElinAnna
