How many of you are hoping for something special on Valentine’s Day? The advertisement and stories surrounding this famous day tell us this is supposed to be the day of romance and love. It is on this day the love of our lives shows us how much they love us. Or is it?
How often does this special one live up to our expectations? For many this is just a day of disappointments, because what we had hoped for didn’t happen. In many ways the same goes for money. Our hopes go up and then they are trashed. Money doesn’t always live up to the expectation we have. It is this love/hate relationship so many have with money.
How does your relationship with money resemble your relationship with your loved one?

Love and peace,

What is possible when we change the story line? It is invented anyhow. At least that is what the authors of The Art of Possibility Rosamund Stone Zander and Benjamin Zander are saying.

How often have you not seen any feasible solution in a situation because you have already decided the outcome, i.e., the story is already written? What would happen if you just changed the story, since it is only invented anyway? Would the outcome change if you wrote a new story?

I often tell people about my problem finding things. My story was; I can’t find anything. I’m always loosing things. Then I would go on to the problems I was going to have because of it. I don’t have to tell you about all the anxiety and wasted energy because I was holding on to this story. One day I decided to add something to the story. It was; and then I always find those things. When I’m relaxed I find them. And by some magic I started to find things.

Saying this is what the book is only about doesn’t give the authors proper credit. It actually goes on to talk about eleven more practices that give you great ways of doing things differently. The possibilities are endless and we can do so much more with simple changes.

Using these practices can definitely help you live a Life of Abundance.

Love and peace,

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty burned out by all the offers of the latest bells and whistle, latest and greatest products, or the latest promises on how to grow your business. It is time to take a step back and go back to the basics. The truth is all you need is a good list. List of people that like what you have to say. I don’t know about you, but I am still building my list. Most people are, because it is a continuous process. Unfortunately most people don’t know how to build a list fast enough and how to make it targeted. What many do is start building a great product only to discover they don’t have a list of people to sell this great product to.

It is very common to get distracted by all the greatest gadgets or solutions. Thinking that we need to learn all these new things to build our business. The only thing that usually happens is that we get sidetracked while we are learning the latest and greatest. Actual list building is put on hold, again and again. This is something I am definitely guilty of. Always finding something new to learn about how to get clients, some new way of doing it better or easier.

What I’ve finally learned is that there is no way around it, building your list is the best way to get clients. It is also the most important thing you can do for your business. Both you and I have to stick to the basics and build our list. Without the list you can’t reach the right people and get the right clients. Also, you will not be able to get enough sales to pay for all the work that went into your product. You pretty much can’t do very much without it. To be successful you have to make sure that you have the right audience. Therefore your list is one of the most valuable assets of your business. Without it you will not have customers. Without customers you will have no sales. And without sales you don’t have a business.

So stick to the basics. Building a list is the new black. How is your list coming along?

Love and peace,

ElinAnna

How come some people are so risk adverse while others aren’t? This is a question my friend has been asking herself lately.

This has come up a lot since her mother passed away. Her mother didn’t want to change a thing. This included doing any improvements on the house she lived in. And this risk adverse behavior would then result in emergency calls to my friend when things were breaking down. Like one Christmas Eve when the water came pouring into the kitchen because of an ice dam on the roof. For my friend this meant climbing up on the roof to try to stop, or at least minimizing the water damage. Fortunately for my friend she is in good shape and not very risk adverse. Otherwise this would not have ended as well as it did.

As we talked about this risk avoidance the discussion went on to how we train our muscles to be able to handle situations like the one she had. Although I doubt her training was aimed at tackling damaged roof in an ice storm. She is always in a good shape. What is also the case she can take on all kinds of situations, no matter how risky they are. She evaluates the situation and starts tackling it. It’s like she is dealing with risk in the same way and her risk muscle is in just as great shape as the rest of her body.

When we talked about it more we realized that her risk muscle is in great shape because she has been exercising it. She takes on calculated risks and deals with them as they come along. When she was younger she would be hastier in taking the risks. Now she has learned it is much better to go slower and do a better job. No reason to overextend the muscle. This is why she could climb onto the roof on that Christmas Eve.

It is by taking these small, or not so small, risks we train ourselves to live with and take the risks that have the ability to change our lives. It all starts with small risks, then we start taking bigger steps, which help us change how we live our lives and start living a Life of Abundance.

Love and peace,

ElinAnna

Arizona is still warm and shorts are the appropriate dress when being outside. In Massachusetts long paints are much better, at least for those of us that don’t have quality insulation.

What amazes me are the little girls wearing skorts and short sleeves when the temperature doesn’t reach 70°F. Then I notice how much they run around and my surprise changes from how summery they dress to their energy. They just keep on going, trying out things until they can do it.

How often do we stop trying because we can’t do it, what ever it is. It is too difficult and we listen to others that say we can’t do it. We stop trying and start collecting insulation, fat. It takes a lot of energy to keep on like these girls do. But they are having fun. Are you?

What does giving up this energy give us and what is the cost? When I’m looking at these girls it sure looks to me the energy is worth hanging on to. And it will definitely help on the way to a Life of Abundance.

Love and peace,

As I mentioned in my last blog (What matters?) we cleaned up or rather organized our vacation dwelling. I have been reading the book “Clutter Busting” by Brooks Palmer and I have notice what I have been clutter busting. Also, noticed the affects it has.

What was a total mess in February is now becoming an energetic place where we enjoy staying and recharging ourselves.

In his book Brooks Palmer talks about our energy being sucked up by all the clutter in our lives. All those things that we only think we need for some reason or another. And then there are things that we actually need and would love to enjoy if only we could find them in the all the clutter.

Then there are all the things we do. Are they clutter? Why are we doing them? Is there something else we would enjoy more doing? Maybe something that would energize us?

What is the clutter in your life? Is it holding you back from a Life of Abundance?

Love and peace,
